The tough thing about this list is that everyone enjoys their pizza in a different way. I know for me personally, there are times I want to enjoy a pizza in an authentic Italian restaurant and other times at the beach looking over the ocean. Our list is balanced between a variety of styles and atmospheres.

1) Massimo's (Best Pizza in Cape Town)

If you are looking for the best authentic Italian Pizza in Cape Town, head over to Massimo's in Hout Bay. Not only is their pizza amazing, but they are also one of the best overall Authentic Italian Restaurants in Cape Town.

2) Osteria Tarantino (Best Italian)

Osteria Tarantino delivers authentic Italian dining and cuisine. This little gem in De Waterkant is both quaint and cozy. You'd be forgiven for thinking that you are in a traditional restaurant in Italy. Enrico the owner goes the extra mile to take care of his guests.

3. Pizza Warehouse at the Yard (Home of the Dogs Bollocks)

Cape Towns' new little pizza gem is at the Yard, home of the famous burger joint, the Dogs Bollocks. We love the atmosphere and funky hang-out.

If you are looking for a good vegan pizza this is the place. Beautiful outdoor decor with a ton of plants. (Vegan Only menu) Great for vegan date night.

6) I LOVE THE DOUGH (Bree Street)

I LOVE THE DOUGH is a very unique pizza hangout. It's not your normal Italian restaurant. Imagine pink neon lights, a young crowd and a DJ playing at the bar. The pizza is great, and you'll love the vibe.

Authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. Ciao is a Muslim-owned restaurant with an authentic Italian taste. We love that you can now get a classic halal wood-fired pizza in Cape Town.

The atmosphere is cosy and the service is great.

If you enjoy a good beer on a sunny afternoon followed by a wood-fired sourdough pizza, you will struggle to find a better spot than the Aegir project. We love the outdoor set-up and general vibe of Aegir. (Kid and dog-friendly)

9) Vendetta's Pizzeria (Stellenbosch)

You'll love the atmosphere of this beautiful tucked-away pizzeria in Stellenbosch. The pizza is great. We love the courtyard under the trees and lights. Amazing service.

10) Tiger's milk (Kloof Street)

You'll always have a great pizza at Tiger's milk. Our favourite is Tiger's Milk Kloof. However, all Tigers have a similar vibe and quality. Tigers might not be the classic pizzeria, it's more known as a bar/restaurant that makes great pizzas and burgers. All the Tigers Milks are in great locations. The pizzas are wood-fired and there are few places better to spend a Friday or Saturday evening in Cape Town.

Earthfire pizza isn't your standard pizzeria. You'll find them at a variety of markets around Cape Town (See our favourite markets here!) What we love is the amazing pizza made in their Earthfire ovens. Our favourite Earthfire pizza is at the Mojo market.

13) unWinded at the Beach (Woodbridge Island)

unWinded would have always made the list with their great pizzas. What has pushed them up to our number 1 spot is their new location at Woodbridge Island. This casual laid back restaurant is for family and friends. The service and vibe are great. The pizzas are incredible.


"Absolutely AMAZING experience at this cozy restaurant, the staff are exceptionally friendly and kind, the food is incredible, I adore their pasta's most of all."

14) Blue Peter (Blouberg)

Blue Peter Hotel is a classic. If you are looking for an unbeatable view of the ocean and table mountain, blue peter is a local favourite. The pizzas are good, however, it's more the vibe you will find on a sunny afternoon with no wind in Cape Town. There is a big grass area that looks right over the ocean where you will find locals enjoying their afternoons with beers and pizzas.
