No matter what kind of market you are looking for, Cape Town has it all. Cape Town Markets range from food markets, crafts, second-hand antiques as well as specialist gifts.

Mojo Market

Unlike most markets in Cape Town that operate over weekends, Mojo market has a fixed home in Sea Point. What is great about this market is that it is indoors with a wide variety of restaurants, craft stores and eateries.

Mojo Market doesn't have the same farmers' market feel, that said it caters for afternoons and evenings. It's the perfect market to go to when all others are closed. There are also great food options.

The Oranjezicht Farmers market is a local favourite.

Oranjezicht has the perfect balance between artisanal products, great food stalls, fresh produce, and a fully stocked bar (lots of craft beers, gin and ciders on tap)


It’s the perfect place to stop in for breakfast or brunch on Saturday and Sunday Mornings.

Bay Harbour Market

Where: Hout Bay

Summary: Vibrant market set in an old fish factory in Hout Bay, Live Music in working harbour.

Hout bay is a bit of a trip out of Cape Town, you are looking at a good 30-minute drive from the CBD, that said the drive is spectacular.

Best things to do there: Shop for souvenirs, a good place to listen to live music and eat good food. FISH AND CHIPS!

Summary: Treasure hunting new and old stuff.

The Milnerton market has a variety of different vendors selling a collection of new and old things. There are a lot of random things, some rubbish, but some hidden gems and bargains hidden for those who like the hunt. It's one of those places you will go and find something you never knew you wanted.


It's not a trendy market like the others, there is basic food and drinks, but you go for the adventure.

The Neighbourgoods Market AKA The Old Biscuit Mill was the initial trendy market in Cape Town. Still a firm favourite amongst locals and tourists in Cape Town. There is a great variety of food from all cuisines. A must for anyone coming to Cape Town.

V&A Food Market

Summary: The V&A waterfront market is nice, especially if you are at the waterfront and want to find a couple of different food options. If you are looking for souvenirs, gifts or a quick bite it is a great option and you won't be disappointed. It does, however, lack a little soul or vibe that you will find at the other markets.

From bright beads to beating drums and the smell of wood and leather. You may love it or you may find it overwhelming.
